RUSSELL KANE'S EVIL GENIUS
High Viz Media Group were asked to work alongside BBC Studios for Russell Kane's "Evil Genius", a Radio 4 podcast turned TV adaption featuring guests that debate the merits of famous figures.
The setup required an 8 camera flypack gallery with provisions for 12 crew, along side a High Viz Media technical team to operate it.
This show later aired on Sky History during December 2023. 6x60 minute Episodes were filmed on location at the Film Shed in London with a live audience.
A VT operator worked closely with the archives producer to ensure that the recordings played met their specifications. All content was captured with a main recording stack and provided to the editorial team for the finishing touches
The show began as a hit BBC Sounds podcast before being reimagined as a primetime TV format. Mixing archive, debate and humour, the show invites audiences to judge history’s most iconic figures as “evil or genius.” Its strong performance built on the podcast’s multi-million downloads, attracted wide viewership on Sky HISTORY, and earned praise for reinventing factual entertainment with a provocative, accessible twist.
